I studied with Gisela in both group classroom and individual tutoring settings. With Gisela's help, I was able to improve my Spanish dramatically. She worked with me specifically on grammar and on my Spanish pronunciation. Gisela is an extremely patient teacher and she always took the time to make sure that I truly understood what we were covering. She would repeat sounds to me ultiple times until I was able to make the same sound myself. She never acted frustrated or bored. Gisela helped me build my confidence with my Spanish language skills. She was always well prepared for our sessions with handouts and homework. Most importantly, Gisela taught me about Argentine culture and etiquette. We chatted about clubs and restaurants and movies. “Conocí a Melina en noviembre de 2006. Ella estaba trabajando en una escuela del centro de Buenos Aires y yo empezando un viaje de un año por toda Sudamérica.
Soy suizo y cuando llegué a Bs. As. no sabía ni una palabra de español. Al principio, pensaba tomar 2 meses de clases, principalmente a fin de poder hablar básicamente con la gente local durante mi viaje. Apenas 2 semanas con Melina y ella me transmitió el virus del idioma!
Progresé con una velocidad increíble.

“Aprender espanhol é algo que eu gosto muito. Grande parte do que sei sobre esta ligua deve-se ao pouco tempo que vivi em Buenos Aires, mas que foram de fato bastante enriquecedor. As aulas que tive com Gisela eram sempre muito divertidas, dinâmicas e criativas. Sua metodología de ensino me parece bastante interessante e peculiar, pois envolve uma série de atividades que resultam em conhecimento, sem gerar monotonia. Estudava 5 horas por dia com ela e nunca enjoava. Adorava quando líamos textos de escritores locais como Borges e Cortazar para depois debater as idéias centrais. Nestas aulas consegui prender muito a gramática espanhola, que como a portuguesa, é cheia de regrinhas e exceções! Todas as sextas-feiras assistíamos a uma película espanhola, o que me ajudou muito a entender a língua, pois sempre tive dificuldade de compreender um diálogo entre nativos. Gisela sempre se preocupou em saber quais as nossas dificuldades e sempre levava para sala atividades que pudessem suprir estas deficiencias. Elá é um prof. muito atenciosa e dedicada... além de ter um conhecimento muito grande do espanhol e da literatura espanhola, principalmente a argentina. De fato foram estas aulas me proporcionaram momentos muito legais e importantes para meu conhecimento em outra língua e para a minha vida como um todo. Sinto falta daquela rotina que me durou1 mês, mas que pareceram anos, devido a intensidade como as coisas se passaram. Ganhei muito aprendizado e muita amizade."

"I just completed over 2 months of Spanish lessons in Buenos Aires with Melina (mi profesora) and I absolutely loved it!. Melina is an amazing teacher and goes above and beyond to help you not only with learning the language but also with adjusting and learning about to life/culture within Argentina. The Spanish classes were great, we had a good solid 3-4 hours of class time per day and we would also go into the community and practice with the locals. This made it very easy to get to know the people in town and also really helped to improve my Spanish skills as well. By the time I finished my studies with Melina, I had fallen in love with Argentina and decided that I will come back to study next year. Melina also went out of her way to help me plan my trips to other parts of the country as well (i.e. Bariloche, Salta, Iguazu, ect.). Thanks to Melina, I can had now hold solid conversations in Spanish. This has made traveling a much more rewarding experience and for that, I will always be eternally grateful. I highly recommend Melina with great enthusiasm to anyone who wants to learn Spanish, she is AWESOME!"
